In the conditioning process, stimulus generalization is the tendency for the conditioned stimulus to evoke similar responses after the response has been conditioned. For instance, if a child has been adapted to fear dark shading, it will show fearness towards items like the molded improvement, for example, a black cow, black dog and black objects.
